White Named 2022 Recipient of Rich Murray Journalism Scholarship

LEXINGTON, Va. - Setting herself apart from a large pool of applicants, Delaney White of The Miller School of Albemarle (Charlottesville, Va.) has been named the 2022 recipient of the Virginia Sports Information Directors' (VaSID) annual Rich Murray Journalism Scholarship.
White served as a production and media team member at the ESPN base at the University of Virginia and held an internship with the Crozet Gazette as a sports column writer. She also held an internship with Scrimmage Play, central Virginia's premier high school and community sports website and social media outlet, as a reporter and photographer. She has also served as a public address announcer and photographer for several Miller School sports including baseball, football, basketball, soccer and lacrosse.
This fall she will attend Clemson University where she will study sports marketing, management, and communications and already has a job lined up working directly with the Clemson football and baseball teams.
She aspires to one day work in sports journalism for a professional sports team, a university athletic department or as an ESPN broadcast talent.
