Liberty Claims University All-Sports Survey

NORFOLK, Va. -- Liberty University won 65.4% of its athletic contests in the 2021-22 season to capture the Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID) University Division All-Sports Survey announced on Tuesday. This marks the second year in a row the Flames won the title.
The Flames captured seven Atlantic Sun Conference championships and earned a NCAA runner-up spot in the field hockey championships this past season.
VCU was just behind the Flames winning 65.2% of its overall contests. Virginia Tech was third (61.4%), while Virginia was fourth (58.9%) and Old Dominion was fifth (57.9%).
As far as men's contests, the Rams of VCU ran away with that winning 68.1% of its games (95-44-2), while Virginia was second at 63.2% (130-75-3) and Virginia Tech was third at 62.4% (101-60-4).
On the women's side, Liberty won 69.4% of its contests (148-65-1) to take that side. VCU was second winning 62.2% (84-51) and Old Dominion was third at 61% (91-58-1).
VaSID names 44 all-state teams in 23 sports each year, as well as an Academic All-State squad and an all-sports champion in both the University and College Divisions. Membership in VaSID is open to all media relations professionals working at a university or conference in the state of Virginia.
