The University of Virginia Claims 2023-24 Virginia Sports Information Directors University All Sports Survey

NORFOLK, Va. – The University of Virginia won nearly 66% of its athletic contests in the 2023-24 season to take home the Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID) University Division All-Sports survey on Monday.
Virginia went 259-135-10 for a 65.4% winning percentage to take home the title for the second year in a row. The title for the Cavaliers was the 19th in the history of the award dating back to the 1978-79 athletic year.
The Cavaliers won their fourth straight NCAA title in women's swimming and diving, while advancing to the Men's College World Series in baseball.
VCU was second overall with a 165-104-9 record (61%), while JMU (211-133-13/60.9%), Liberty (215-145-4/59.6%) and Richmond (149-107-5/58.1%) rounded out the top five.
On the men's side, Virginia was first with a 130-82-4 mark (67.4%) with JMU coming in second after a 96-50-5 mark (65.2%). For the women, Virginia was first sporting a 129-73-6 record (63.5%) with Liberty coming in second after a 133-81-1 mark (62.1%).
VaSID names 44 all-state teams in 23 sports each year, as well as an Academic All-State squad and an all-sports champion in both the University and College Divisions. Membership in VaSID is open to all media relations professionals working at a university or conference in the state of Virginia.
