Christopher Newport Claims College Division VaSID All-Sports Survey

NORFOLK, Va. -- Coming on the heels of winning NCAA National Championships in women's soccer and softball this season, Christopher Newport University captured the 2021-22 Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID) University Division All-Sports Survey announced on Tuesday afternoon.
The Captains won 76.8% of their contests this past year with a sparkling 245-75-3 record to take the title. Washington & Lee was second winning 73.8% of their events with a 218-76-4 mark. Randolph-Macon was third with a winning percentage of 66% after a 227-116-3 year.
Rounding out the top five were the University of Lynchburg with a 61.4% winning percentage and Sweet Briar College who had a 59.3% winning percentage.
Virginia Union University won the men's side with a 72.5% winning percentage, while CNU was second (71.9%) and Randolph-Macon was third (69.5%). On the women's side, Washington & Lee had an 83.7% winning percentage to lead, followed by CNU (80.5%) and Randolph-Macon (62.7%).
VaSID names 44 all-state teams in 23 sports each year, as well as an Academic All-State squad and an all-sports champion in both the University and College Divisions. Membership in VaSID is open to all media relations professionals working at a university or conference in the state of Virginia.
