ODAC Sweeps VaSID Major Awards for Baseball; Lynchburg Picks Up Two

ARLINGTON, Va. – Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID) released its 2025 slate of awards and All-State Teams for the 2025 baseball season, with the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) sweeping the major awards.
The University of Lynchburg pulled in a pair of major awards with the Pitcher of the Year being awarded to Tyley Kaltreider and the Coach of the Year garnered by skipper Travis Beazley.
Nick Stavros of Bridgewater College was named the VaSID Player of the Year, rounded out by Liam Stewart of Shenandoah University nabbing Rookie of the Year honors.
Lynchburg's Beazley led the Hornets to 41 wins on the year, the second-most in program history, en route to being ranked consistently in the D3baseball.com national poll throughout the course of the season. They ranked as high as #2 in back-to-back weeks.
The Hornets went on to claim their third-straight ODAC Championship title and fifth-straight NCAA Tournament appearance, hosting the first round in Lynchburg.
Kaltreider, a junior out of Warrenton, Va., picked of the Pitcher of the Year honor, adding more to a decorated season for the righty. Tossing to a 2.68 ERA through the year, he was 13th in the country in strikeouts with 95 and strikeout-to-walk ratio at 7.31. His efforts gave way to ODAC Pitcher of the Year, as well as ABCA/Rawlings Region 6 Pitcher of the Year.
Stavros of Bridgewater was named the Player of the Year after posting a strong year at the plate. The ODAC Player of the Year hit at a .438 clip with a 1.091 OPS on the season, powering three home runs with 37 total RBI. He was named ABCA All-American Fourth Team, as well as First Team All-Region by both ABCA/Rawlings and D3baseball.com.
Stewart, out of Chesterfield, Va., grabbed VaSID Rookie of the Year after posting a 2.03 ERA on the mound for the Hornets of Shenandoah. Punching out 55 in his 40.0 innings of work, he had a .93 WHIP alongside a 3-1 record with a pair of saves.
He was named to the All-ODAC First Team, as well as D3baseball.com Rookie of the Year.
