Virginia Wesleyan and Randolph-Macon Headline VaSID All-State Softball Teams
BRIDGEWATER, Va. – The Virginia Sports Information Directors Association released its all-state softball team on Monday. Virginia Wesleyan took three of the major honors, as Brandon Elliott took home Coach of the Year honors and Laci Campbell and Morgan Tucker were named Player of the Year and Rookie of the Year, respectively. Randolph-Macon’s Gracie Ellis was named the organization’s Pitcher of the Year. | Leyton Pullin
Campbell's 2025 campaign saw her take home ODAC Player of the Year honors, along with being named first team all-conference and First Team NFCA All-Region. She was also named a Third Team NFCA All-American for VWU's first national accolade since 2021. Campbell paced the ODAC with 68 runs scored and 51 stolen bases and was put down on strikes just three times in her junior season in Virginia Beach.
Ellis adds a VaSID State Pitcher of the Year title to First Team All-ODAC, All-Region and All-American selections in her senior campaign. Ellis led the Yellow Jackets to an appearance in the Division III Women's College World Series as she led Division III in multiple pitching categories and ended the campaign with a 29-6 record and a 1.12 ERA over 238.1 innings pitched.
Tucker earned the organization's Rookie of the Year honor after earning the ODAC Rookie of the Year nod earlier this spring. The rookie set a new league record with 76 RBI in her first campaign for VWU while also earning NCAA All-Tournament Team and a Second Team NFCA All-Region accolade.
Ellliott took home the association's Coach of the Year honor for the sixth time after leading VWU to its fourth appearance in the NCAA Championship Series under his leadership. The Marlins won their 11th ODAC crown under Elliott this season and had to overcome multiple injuries throughout the season. Elliott and his staff were also recently named the ATEC/NFCA Regional Coaching Staff of the Year.
